Press On Welcomes a Third Family to the Team

September 21st, 2016 by Sarah Turner Davis

You’ve met the Chances and the Simkins, and now Press On is proud to announce that we are adding another family to the team: The Crawfords! Bob and Melanie Crawford’s daughter Hallie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011; the Crawfords and Simkins met while at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You may know Bob as the world-renown bassist for The Avett Brothers.

Bob and Melanie believe that under the Press On banner, together with the Chance and Simkins families, an unprecedented opportunity awaits to bring real and lasting improvements and outcomes for children suffering from cancer. Welcome to the team Crawfords!

For more information, visit our new page about Hallie’s Story, or the announcement on the Avett Brothers Website! . To give in her name today, continue to our Donate Page and select “In Honor of Hallie” in the dropdown menu when prompted.

I met Tara when she was 7. I’ve been her dad since that day. She’s 30 now. She has CP and an IQ of age 3-6. She is love.
I just watched the HBO doc on the Avett Bros and felt compelled to donate. Thank you Crawfords and friends for not giving up.
I play a little guitar and it’s so good to be inspired to play more.
    Much love.
